Role : Technical Leader (Production) (Shift)
The successful candidate must have a number of years’ experience in a similar technical role, with experience of supervising a production line in a high volume productions plant.
Responsibilities :
- Operate extruders and ancillary equipment
- Set up, tear down and cleaning of extrusion machines and ancillary equipment
- Perform quality inspections on products using a variety of measurement equipment including but not limited to Pin gages, Micro-meters, Vernier Callipers, Video Microscopes, Laser Micro-meters and ultra-sound measurements
- Read and interpret customer and internal product specifications and prints
- Maintains accurate production and quality control records
- Participate in the investigation of warranties
- Troubleshoot issues as needed
- Perform Melt Flow Rate analysis on raw materials
- Ability to independently set up the process
- Ensure that all machine, tools and processes are run in accordance to the prescribed process tolerances and protocols
- Perform basic preventative maintenance and repair and coordinate repairs when necessary.
- Monitor, maintain and improve daily production / stock levels
- Carry out stock counts
Education and Experience
- Plastic Extrusion or relevant experience is essential.
- HNC/HND Diploma in a technical field (Mechanical/Electrical Engineering)
- Mechanical aptitude
- Experience of supervising a continuous production line
- Ability to troubleshoot
- Methodical/Logical thinker & hands on in approach.
- Communicate to colleagues at all levels.
