Overview of Role: Our client based in Co Louth/ Meath/ Cavan/ Monaghan is seeking a Project Engineer on a full-time permanent basis.
Job summary: The Project Engineer will work closely with the Process Manager and Engineering Manager for the Technical Engineering implementation of plant renewal, upgrades, and productivity modifications.
Responsibilities:
The Project Engineer will manage the design, installation and commissioning of small to medium scale projects involving either new or existing equipment. Including budget definition, payback and benefit, technology and supplier selection, through to project sign-off.
Prepare Design Specifications and associated documentation for equipment and system upgrades proposals and quotation requests.
To liaise with and external providers in maintaining, troubleshooting, and installing/commissioning new equipment.
Propose and implement improvement projects that ensure compliance, improve efficiencies, safety, and yields or speeds. Work closely with all site departments to deliver these continuous improvement projects.
Fault-finding and troubleshooting of equipment and process issues to support the maintenance team, and propose and implement solutions and improvements.
Participate in root cause analysis and solutions proposal to equipment and process breakdowns and non-conformances.
The management and updating of technical documentation: mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, PC, PLC, HMI, and electronic components programs backup, maintenance instructions, and installation and operating manuals
Qualification: Must have an Engineer Degree or equivalent
Experience: 5+ years in manufacturing machinery project work and in the project management, design, installation, and commissioning of manufacturing machinery and plant, across a broad range including mechanical, electrical, automation and controls, and safety standards. A technical knowledge and direct experience across all areas of the machinery spectrum in a manufacturing environment.
