Job Title: Programme Manager   2 Year Fixed Term Contract

The Programme Manager will be responsibility for the development and delivery of a programme to build an active & collaborative cross border network of payment companies resulting in new start-ups and job creation. The successful candidate will have track record in running similar programmes, have credible fintech, financial services or IT experience and demonstrate the ability to be a strong voice for the North East region in the payments and fintech space.   The Programme Manager will have the skills and experience to drive the development of our programme activity, whilst also serving as a thought leader within the M1PC & Fintech Ecosystem on both sides of the border.

The PM will report directly to senior management and a steering group of industry, academic, and public sector partners. 

Key Responsibilities / Deliverables:

Develop a compelling business proposition creating strong brand resonance awareness for the M1PC region

To further develop a strong ecosystem both in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. A focus is to develop cross-border links between Fintech players in Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland. This will require working closely with key Northern stakeholders including existing supporters and recruiting key influencers and fintech companies in that region. Work with a portfolio of indigenous and FDI companies to assist them to grow and scale their businesses.

Develop, implement and report progress against the M1PC Programme & associated KPIs including encouraging new start-ups and increased collaboration amongst indigenous and FDI companies within M1PC region.

Build a sustainable cluster by the end of a 2-year period that includes increased membership, commercial sustainability, programme of work and that delivers a continued jobs impact as per agreed KPIs.

Build an engaged national and international community of thought-leaders, domain experts and industry innovators establishing M1PC as an International region of Fintech excellence. Manage marketing and communication strategies and report progress to stakeholders as required. Successfully obtain PR coverage in national / International media.

Leverage funding opportunities to secure funding from national and international sources Champion the M1PC ecosystem at various events, meetings, forums and panels. Connect companies with a network of external contacts within the sector both in Ireland and internationally.

Plan and deliver training and networking events including two National Payments Conferences, 2 hackathons and multiple sectoral events.

Devise and deliver alongside relevant partners, a Pre-accelerator startup programme for first-stage Fintech entrepreneurs in M1PC region. 

Develop and manage relationships with external stakeholders nationally and internationally, including:

  Enterprise support and development agencies.

    Fintech networks

    Innovation Hub, Networks and Ecosystems.

    Competency, research and innovation centres.

    Higher Education Organisations.

    Industry & Enterprise: companies, networks and associations.

Qualifications and experience:

10 years’ experience working in Fintech / Financial services / IT sectors

Experienced in delivering collaborative projects and working directly with clusters.

Relevant degree or equivalent professional qualification

Have an entrepreneurial, experimental and innovation-focused mindset and approach     to identifying and seizing new opportunities

Proven influencing skills when working with internal and external partners at all levels of an organisation.

Skilled at building and maintaining diverse professional relationships.

Experience of running similar programmes or building a cross border network would be beneficial.

A valid driver’s licence and own transport for the duration of the programme.
