Overview of Role: Our client based in the North East of Ireland is seeking a Technical Engineer on a full-time permanent basis.
The successful candidate will join a highly successful and driven Projects Sales team, providing technical solutions for the systems, Working with Architects, Engineers and Contractors to provide the company value engineering solutions and a great service from start to finish, the job holder will play a lead role in the development and delivery of projects in a range of sectors.
To ensure budgeted sales targets and commercial objectives are achieved within a specified sales territory and customer account base.
Main Responsibilities:
To develop and maximise profitable sales opportunities covering both Above Ground and Below Ground Building Products
To be responsible for the entire sales cycle from an initial lead to after sales maintenance, the role is initially predominantly office based until sufficient training is achieved when flexibility will be developed for customer facing visits
To manage and proactively develop targeted account strategies within the territory in alignment with company goals and marketing activities
To develop and maintain new and existing contacts within each account
To produce and regularly review personal business plans and activities, populating in Microsoft Dynamics CRM System and regularly updating and recording meeting summaries and other planned actions on a daily/weekly/monthly basis
To be organised and efficient, adding and updating customer contact details as appropriate in CRM and to issue pricing and quotations, in writing, maintaining records of same and communicating to Customer Service and Management
To record and track opportunities through the In-house system, and to achieve all KPI targets
To review orders and verify the accuracy of pricing on customer orders and promptly communicate any errors to Customer Service
To investigate and understand the customers’ business and their applications as a means of identifying business opportunities for the entire company product range
To develop a comprehensive knowledge of the company product range to enable meaningful and valuable discussions with customers, so becoming a proactive, solutions provider. In addition, develop a working knowledge of our competitor’s products
To proactively manage any queries in relation to pricing, delivery and service in cooperation with Customer Service and Finance
To efficiently coordinate activity with Marketing, Customer Service, Finance and Management.
To research and feedback market intelligence, as appropriate
Attend sales meetings and training courses, as required
Ensure expense claims with receipts are made and submitted through Concur by the 3rd working day of the following month
Education:
Minimum: Relevant degree (or equivalent) in Construction or Technical Engineering
Desirable: Relevant post-graduate degree in a related discipline
Knowledge Required:
Excellent verbal and numerical reasoning skills
First class communication skills across all mediums
IT Skills: Microsoft Windows (Excel, Outlook, Word, Powerpoint)
Professional selling, influencing and negotiating skills
Technical ability and understanding
Experience Required:
May suit Graduate with some experience, in the Building Services or Civil Engineering sector.
