General Manager   

 

Our Client is a not-for-profit Company with the primary purpose of actively promoting & supporting Enterprise & Innovation in the Louth area.

This is achieved through the provision of high quality, flexible, serviced office space and hotdesks, training, mentoring, community out-reach and professional programmes.  

The candidate will fulfil the primary leadership role, with the responsibility for the development and delivery of programmes and support for new start-ups and job creation.

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day management & successful further growth of the company. The candidate will also be responsible for developing collaborative relationships with key stakeholders and strategic partners.

 

The Key Responsibilities are:

  • Recruiting early stage, expanding companies, and entrepreneurs to take up residency.
  • Marketing & promoting the supports, networks, events & facilities.
  • Provide mentoring & supports to companies and programme participants.  
  • To further develop a strong start-ups ecosystem in the greater Louth, and wider region. This will require working closely stakeholders including existing supporters and recruiting key influencers in that region.
  • Partner with Louth County Council to ensure the timely completion and commissioning of the Drogheda Town Centre Digital Innovation Hub.
  • Partner with The Fintech Corridor Program manager to ensure key milestones are delivered and also timely completion of Inter Trade Ireland reporting requirements.
  • Develop, implement and report progress against Mill Programmes & associated KPIs, including encouraging new start-ups.
  • Financial management against an agreed annual budget.
  • Establishing meaningful relationships & networks regionally, nationally & internationally
  • Leverage funding opportunities to secure funding from national and international sources
  • Managing the facilities and companies
  • Reporting to and working closely with the Board of Directors & its sub-Committees
  • Work closely with all of the 3rd Level Institutes, Agencies & Organisations that support Regional enterprise development. This may require representing The Company on relevant enterprise and educational stakeholder groups.
  • Champion The Company and the local /regional start up ecosystem at various events, meetings, forums and panels.
  • Manage a small dedicated team

 

Essential Experience, Skills & Competences we seek are:

  • A passion about Enterprise, Innovation & Start-up Culture
  • Minimum of 5 years business management experience.
  • Familiarity with financial systems and strategic business planning
  • Excellent organisational, communications and networking skills
  • Excellent IT skills – be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office tools.
  • A self-reliant, results focused approach. Positive and energetic / ’Can Do’ attitude – comfortable working and operating in an empowered environment.
  • The candidate will be a strategic thinker and be able to assimilate large quantities of information from broad sources of information and extract meaningful strategies
  • The candidate will have excellent people management skills. A strong communicator, community builder and team player. Skilled at building and maintaining diverse professional relationships.
  • Sales and Marketing experience
  • Have an entrepreneurial, experimental and innovation-focused mindset and approach     to identifying and seizing new opportunities.
  • Skilled at building and maintaining diverse professional relationships. Able to build trust, with a natural aptitude for listening to listen and engaging with people
  • Experience of running similar initiatives would be beneficial.

 

Other Requirements:                    You must hold a valid driver’s licence and have your own motor transport.
