Overview of Role: Our client based in Co Louth/ Meath/ Cavan/ Monaghan/ is seeking a Trade Compliance Administrator on a full-time permanent basis.

The purpose of the role is to maintain The Company’s AEO accreditation, to ensure compliance with all regulations in relation to incoming and outgoing freight and the associated customs requirements. To ensure customs procedures are followed for shipment of both in-coming and out-going freight from The Company’s Global Headquarters, including all ancillary duties associated with this. This role reports to The Company’s Supply Chain Manager.

Responsibilities:

AEO person of contact within the business for all audits and import/export record keeping.

Ensure continual compliance for AEO and known consignor certification and audits

Lead Investigator - Ensure that the appropriate root cause analysis is undertaken when leading investigations into non-conformities.

Provide efficient and effective customs clearance checks.

To ensure that all data sent to Revenue & Customs is completely accurate.

Ensure quick resolution of all queries

Supports business-wide compliance of government regulations concerning import, trade agreements, and global operations

Liaise with internal departments as required.

Follow SOP’s to conduct internal audits with regards to AEO requirements.

Ensure compliance with customs import and export regulations 

To maintain accurate and comprehensive records as needed

To ensure the IT system is updated with importers and exporter details and specific requests

To liaise with both internal and external customers and ensure all clearance queries and requests are resolved/followed through in a timely and effective manner

Trade compliance - VAT, duty, import & export awareness

Effective communication of information to other departments/facilities relating to shipments

Highly organised and effective in preparation of documents for customs

Review courier performance and complete Quality Scorecards

Champion GDP through exports

Key Skills and Experience Required:

Although training will be provided, the ideal candidate should possess the following attributes.

Experience dealing with Customs matters or freight forwarders

Knowledge or awareness of AEO is an advantage

Excellent analytical, communication, presentation, and organisation skills

The ability to interpret large volumes of information

Computer literacy will be essential

Enthusiastic approach and the ability to deal positively with pressure

Strong communication (both verbal and written) and administrative skills

Third level qualification

Good problem solver with strong negotiation skills

Good team player with a positive attitude towards problem solving

Knowledge of moving materials worldwide via air, road, sea and courier

Experience in shipping hazardous goods and knowledge of packaging procedures and inventory management advantageous
